Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was a little different than other years.  Earlier in the week the girls had gotten a stomach bug and in the middle of the night on the 23rd it hit me, hard.   I had to miss the kids singing at church and the get together with Mike’s side of the family but my sister in law was sweet enough to take a few photos for me.

Think they got enough stuff!?  The girls are so loved.

It was really hard for me to miss out on this family time.   It gave me a glimpse into what it would be like to not have those I loved around me during the holidays and felt so blessed that it was only for a day.    I hope you all had a blessed holiday and celebrated Jesus birthday.

Seeing Santa

A perk of now being home is the ability to go and see Santa at the mall during off-peak hours.  Last year we waited in line for over an hour and this year was able to walk right up there.   We have had some pretty comical photos in the past but this year everyone thought he was pretty cool up close.

Meet Buddy our Elf….

This year we started the Elf on a shelf tradition and it was a big hit.  Here are a few of the places he landed while watching over the girls and reporting back to Santa.

Christmas Concert at Preschool

Emma was so excited for her Christmas program at preschool.   Daddy and Papi were both able to come and watch and she was awesome!   Standing next to her is Jane who is just 9 days younger than Emma and the daughter of our good friends.   It seems like just yesterday they were babies.

Emma loves to write…

Here is is practicing some names.  She can do all of the names in our family without asking us and wanted to start with some others in the family.   I am so proud of her eagerness to learn.

Olivia’s Dedication

We had Olivia dedicated at our church this past weekend.  She is such a blessing in our family and we are so thankful that God chose us to raise her up to love him and others.

Cereal for Olivia

Here is the first attempt at cereal for Olivia.   Then next few tries were a bit messier.

Halloween 2011

I really like Halloween now that I have kiddos to dress up.  This year we had a Pirate Princess (Emma had to keep it girly so she added the princess), Witch and Cow.   The girls had a blast this year!

PUMPKINS!

This year he let the girls pick the designs.  We have Wall-E, a traditonal face and one that Emma drew and Mike cut out…. a smiley face with a flower.   The girls had fun carving this year.

If you are good….

So when we make a trip to Costco the girls typically get a deal that if they are good and help me they can get a churro to share when we leave.   Can you tell who was good and who wasn’t?

Fall Harvest Orchard

We found a great new place to visit in the fall this year!   It is called Fall Harvest Orchard and I tool the girls there once with my Mom and we had such a great time we went back with Daddy the next weekend!   I loved how you could get up close with the animals and the tractor ride is not only fun but they give the kids a great lesson on plants and harvesting them on the ride.    We will be back here every fall…..IMG_1582
